Despite the flood of shoe manufacturers hopping on the eco bandwagon lately, finding green footwear that’s both cool and comfortable can still be a tall order. Thankfully there are flip-flops like the Reef Machado Classic.
They’re hewn of chrome-free leather with all stitching and webbing made from 100% post-consumer recycled PET plastic. The midsole is built from a plant cellulose-based foam (which is more sustainable and not dependant on petroleum like many foams) and, finally, the rubber soles are just old car tire tread. You’ve seen and heard it all before with other eco-friendly flip-flops, but I gotta tell you – green or not – these are officially the most comfortable leather sandals I’ve ever worn.
