In a continued effort to take their ‘No One Likes A Dirty Beach’ campaign around the globe, Ocean Minded teamed up with Rocking The Daisies Music Festival, Island Vibe Backpackers and The Jeffrey’s Bay Language School to host a beach clean up at world-famous Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa this week.
“When I founded Ocean Minded in 1996, it was my dream to host beach cleanups around the world,” said Gary Ward, President. “It’s very powerful for me to now see our ambassadors executing them on a global level”.
Over 60 participants combed ‘J-Bay’ with cleaning supplies in-hand, and amassed 47 large bags of trash, 4 large bags of glass, an old fishing trap, and an old car tire – all of which was removed from the beach and disposed of properly.
“I am so proud of the Ocean Minded team in South Africa,” concluded Ward. “The amount of trash they picked up at J-Bay should be eye-opening to the world, and proves that together, we CAN make a difference. We all need to be committed to leaving our oceans, beaches and environment in better shape then when we arrived”.
