Andy Hughes, the British artist and surfer whose ocean inspired art work has earned him world wide acclaim, will be auctioning a framed photograph from his current exhibition for charity.
To coincide with Photo London 2007 and the forthcoming exhibition of Andy’s work at Goldenshot, a fully framed 20×20 print will be auctioned to raise funds for Surfers Against Sewage.
Andy studied at the Royal College of Art and has since travelled the world surfing and taking photographs as he goes. His work focuses on the beach trash that litters our shores, casting it in an oddly beautiful setting of blue skies and bright sunshine which contrasts with the underlying environmental message.
The print which is currently on display at the Tate St Ives Art Now Cornwall exhibition, will help fund the work of SAS in their efforts to preserve Britains coastlines.
Bidding starts at £150 and closes on June 15. Bids can be sent by email to email@example.com. A book of all Andy’s work is also available now.
