Surfers and Environmentalists featured on KOCE in ‘The Heroes of Orange County’
A short film by surfers and activists James Pribram and David Vaderveen on their Eco Warrior project, is part of a new program being debuted on KOCE next month. ‘The Heroes of Orange County’ is a 30-minute program that features a selection of award-winning short films from the My Hero Film Festival and showcases local heroes and filmmakers.
The My Hero Project operates a non-profit, educational web site myhero.com that hosts the world’s largest archive of hero stories from around the world. Each year millions of visitors from over 160 nations discover and share stories, art, and short films about heroes from all walks of life on this award winning online project.
Students, professionals and community members are invited to submit short films to the 4th annual My Hero Film Festival. The deadline for submitting shorts of 10 minutes and under is September 2008. Winning films are screened at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts and are also available online.
‘The Heroes of Orange County’ can be seen on KOCE’s Channel 50.2 and on Cox Communications’ channel 810:
