Togo’s, the California-based sandwich chain, is calling all surf artists to submit their masterpieces for consideration to be featured in the Togo’s Surfboard Art Tour taking place this summer.
For over eight weeks, the Togo’s Surfboard Art Tour, benefiting The Surfrider Foundation, will traverse California stopping at beaches, music concerts, festivals and sporting events to showcase a quiver of surf board art.
Celerity guest judges, including Matt McCain of The Surfrider Foundation, Dave Gilovich from Surfline.com, a representative from Fuel TV, and renowned surfboard artist Drew Brophy will select 10 winners to be featured in the Togo’s Surfboard Art Tour.
Artists must submit their original surf-themed art, via by Monday, June 4th for consideration. Winners will be selected and contacted by June 7th. Each selected artist will be given a blank custom shaped surfboard to re-create their original work, using acrylic paints. Artists will receive $1,000 each for their art and an opportunity to win the Grand Prize of $3,000.
The Grand Prize winner will be selected based on votes by those who visit the Togo’s Surfboard Art Tour and website. Additionally, each artist featured in the Tour will be promoted in Togo’s publicity and marketing efforts. At the culmination of the Togo’s Surfboard Art Tour, all surfboards will be auctioned online with proceeds benefiting The Surfrider Foundation.
