Kelly Slater, 39, of Coco Beach, Florida, United States of America (pictured) claims his historic 11th ASP World Title as he is chaired up the beach amidst thousands of fans at the Rip Curl Pro Search at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, USA on Wednesday November 2, 2011.
Slater clinched the year-long pursuit with his advancement out of Round three, defeating Daniel Ross (AUS) by 15.13 to 14.40 (both out of 20.00).
The Rip Curl Pro Search is event Stop No. 10 of 11 on the men’s ASP World Title Tour featuring the World’s Top 34 surfers plus two wildcards.
The men’s Rip Curl Pro Portugal holds a waiting period from November 1- 12 and is webcast LIVE via http://live.ripcurl.com/?search2011
