This isn’t funny anymore.
As predicted in surf sci-fi surf-pulp novels, and Tony Butt in a futurist surfing article in TSP Issue 20, it’s starting to look like surfing is about to get transformed by powered surfboards.
Maybe our future doesn’t, after all, lie in the hands of straggle haired self-consciously affected hipster aerialists, but in the hands of clever but misguided hydro-mechanics entrepreneurs who can’t resist the urge to put an engine in a surfboard.
On the plus side, I guess it leaves our hands free for texting and tweeting.
