Sandy Ryan paddles in
Good to see someone taking on Shipstern Bluff with bare hands again.
Back in the early 2000s, there was pretty much only one guys surfing this wave – a local fella by the name of Andrew Campbell. He paddled it, of course, usually alone, finding limits as he went.
Now Sandy Ryan’s got the paddle bug for Shipsterns. It’s a hell of a wave when towed, but as a paddle wave it is gnnnnaaaarrrrrllllyyy.
