OK previous posters, riddle me this: jet-ski towing isn’t detrimental to the very heart of surfing etc etc but this alternate from of human motive power is somehow?

I think this will have a ready market, right up until the point that someone tries to ride anything over 5 feet!

For the record; I think towing-in is ‘cheating’, if you aren’t man enough to catch it paddling then respect it and watch it gracefully pass you by.

great new product. i guess it will work well, come down to barbados and my brother peter (past national champ, ex pro,soupbowl master) to check them out. but a great new product that even myself with 37 years in the water could get in on it.

I just doubt my board would behave the same, looks fun on the longboard though.

Whoa…Just a minute now…rethink this one. Electric motor…tons of waves avail. outside of the crowded lineups. Just having fun all by yourself yourself on waves noone else wants. I’m all over it. I like this thing alot. It is far and above the best design of any which have gone before it. I agree, it would be a disadvantage to those in a traditional paddle in lineup, but the possibilities are to far reaching to just be blown off. I want one!

I think they would be good for surf rescues, Sure beats noisy jetskis, rubby duckies or those huge wooden boats.
Keep ‘em out of the hands of surfers though. No need already….

Whilst I respect the ingenuity and drive it must have taken to design this, I think they have completely missed the point! Fun in a lake or whatever but I hope I never see one out back either!!

and so ecological, too–let’s see, how many faux-paddles per litre?

…and requiring such skill and artistry–did you see those guys in the videos rip? Unbelievable! And so fast! Just like Dane!

…and the innovation–did you see the radical shapes of those boards they were riding? Total originals… a veritable funboard revolution.

…and of course it’s all so selfless–the business kooks behind this are doing this for purely utopian, not-for-profit motives, I’m sure…

If you can’t paddle out into the lineup or to catch a wave, then you don’t belong out there. Not only are you a danger to yourself if you find yourself too deep, but you are a danger to the other surfers out there. I’m fine with these boards for rescue purposes, but surfing is a sport where you have to pay your dues – I really hope I don’t ever see this board when I’m surfing…..
